Lately, Brooke has been obsessed with drawing and writing. Not that she knows how to actually write words yet.....it's mostly just pretty squiggles and a few random letters, but she can draw fairly well, for three years old. She is constantly walking around with her "diary". This week her "diary" a cute little magni-doodle. She has even taken to sleeping with it.
Yesterday, we had a fun family movie day. It was raining out (finally!) and so we decided to have a Harry Potter movie marathon. Of course, Brooke had her trusty diary by her side, and was doodling the day away. During the third movie she giggled a little and said "Oh, you've gotta see this!" She held up her magni-doodle and we said "What is it?" Brooke said, "It's Mommy's bum!" Nice, Brooke! That was a bit random, but I am not one for censoring a budding artist, so I said "That's really good, Brooke!" But actually, if you tilted your head just right......it did look kinda look like an early Salvador Dali rendition of my butt. (Note to self....be more self-concious when naked in front of Brooke) We all had a little chuckle, she had wiped her slate clean, and continued drawing.
During the last movie, Brooke broke out into an all-out, can't catch my breath kind of laugh. It wasn't a particularly funny part in the movie......so Robbie said "What's so funny Brookie?" She said "It's this picture.........it's a humpback whale peeing on himself!!" What?!? I still don't know what is the funniest part of this odd tale really is.
