Bryce is 2! 12/16/05

My baby is, now, no longer a baby. (But if I'm really being honest....he hasn't been a baby for quite some time now.) On December 16th, Bryce turned 2! It seriously seems like it was just a few months ago I pushed him out of my body (really quite pleasant, shortest and best labor I ever had), held him in my arms, and gave him the first of what seems like a million kisses. Anyone who knows Bryce knows what it means when someone says the words "Mama's boy". I am grateful for that everyday.....except for when I am trying to leave and he is hanging and clinging onto me screaming. And let there be no mistake about it, he is ALL BOY! When I used to hear people say that (I said it all the time about my first boy as well) I took it at face value; the little boy likes to play with trucks, in the dirt, has lot of energy to run around, enjoys action figures, and loves to watch action hero cartoons. Not until Bryce did I truly know the meaning of 'he is all boy'! I was not aware that grunts and growls compose a whole new dialect. That running into your mom's bum, repeatedly, with your head, was a sport. That using your parent's 3 1/2 foot tall bed as a springboard, to launch yourself across the their room, was a source of hillarious amusement (broken bones be damned). I didn't realize that 'all boys' regularly, like to catch live insects, and eat them.....because 'all boys' will eat ANYTHING. Bryce will really eat anything that is put in front of him. He is the only one of my kids that will eat spagettio's......the others say "This is disgusting".....and Bryce just sits there smiling and eating. He loves to tinker with things, if he had a tool set, our sockets would be re-wired. He gets that from his Dad, he is so curious and needs to know how things work. He will also watch anything on TV, one hand in his diaper, the other holding his sippy cup (another thing he got from his Dad....we should have named him Mini-me). He (since 18 months old) likes to mock his older brother and sister when they cry. He makes a sad face and says "boo hoo", and then starts laughing. We aren't quite sure why this started, and he's not malicious about it, he just finds it amusing that someone would sit and cry instead of running around trying to rearrange your mom's cupboards. He is energenic and sometimes mischievious, but he is also sweet and very loving, if he lets you hold him for 5 minutes. I love him with all my heart, and he is so very amiable that few people can resist smiling while in his presence. I feel so very blessed that Heavenly Father knew he was meant for our family, and that I get to be his mom. Happy Birthday Brycie!
