Certifiable 7/16/06

(are you noticing a trend? maybe this blog should be renamed 'Seriously Crazy Stuff')

Bryce is completely potty trained. He basically did it himself. He woke up Wednesday, took off his own diaper, and hasn't looked back since. Wednesday was kind of rough, as was Wednesday night (two full-on bed sheet changes), but after naptime on Thursday.....we have been accident free! I am a firm believer in the "No Pull-ups" school of potty training, and it seems to have (thankfully) worked for my kids. No more disposable butt coverings in this house. Sighhh........

I know! I should be dancing around and thinking of what kind of shoes I am going to buy with all that extra diaper money, but I can't help but be a bit sad. (Ok, lets be honest, I actually am thinking of which pair I am going to buy first......but that doesn't discount the pang in my heart.)

This means I officially no longer have a "baby".

Rob looked at me as though I had grown a second head when I voiced this sentiment tonight. He then laughed and said "The next diaper we have to change with be our grandkids...........oh, wait, I guess it will be neices and nephews, huh?.........no, wait, don't worry, we still have Baby Finn's diapers." (and then smiled like figuring out we still change diapers when we babysit, was just as good as having another baby)

I remember crying because there were days when I felt like all I did was change diapers and make bottles.....and now I am crying because that will never again be part of my daily routine. When did I become so undecisive and bi-polar? Does everyone go through this, or just us mentally unstable Mom's?

Either way, I am proud of my big boy, and all his acomplishments!
