My brothers

Anyone who knows me, knows how very much I love my little brothers. They are as precious to me as my own children. I know that may be hard to believe, but trust me, if you had brothers like mine, you would understand. ;) No, it's just because of the age difference paired with the fact that I was able to witness each one of their births, made me a bit more protective and maternal
towards them from the get-go. They are a huge part of my life......and they have a lot going on right now, so my vain attempt to play "catch up" begins with them.

Let's start with my "middle" brother......my sweet little Aaron. Ok little does not really describe him anymore, as he is now the tallest in the family (at 6'3'', I think). Aaron - who once said to Rob and I that he should have been our kid, thus firmly cementing him as favorite brother.....ok, one of three favorites :) - is currently serving a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Manchester, England!
This guy is an AMAZING missionary. No joke.....you should hear his letters about faith, obedience and working for the Lord down to the last minute of everyday.

He reported to the Missionary Training Center in Preston, England on May 1, 2009. I have already started checking prices on flights to England for when we go pick him up in April of 2011!! I dearly miss Aaron and the sting of his absence is really only softened by the fact that he is so earnestly serving the Lord and he has been preparing for this exciting time in his life since he could talk.

Alex is next, the baby. He is currently a Senior in high school and the reigning wrestling State Champ for 152 lbs.!!! Two weeks ago, all of his hard work, dedication (not only to his physical efforts, but to his spiritual efforts as well) paid off and he won the State Championship match. Here are a few pictures from the tournament.

Lovely 1/16/09

Happy Birthday, Brooke!
For Brookie's 6th birthday, I made a little 'birthday montage' for her. When I showed it to her, she started crying...big, fat tears. I said "What's wrong?", and she said through her big tears "I'm just so happy!". I laughed and started crying with her and Rob just stared at us, and shook his head. She is so my daughter....and I am thankful for her every single day. She is such a light in our family and we all love her beyond measure.

I heart Santa 12/09/08

I got to spend last Friday night with a hunky Santa......

Rob (being the wonderful and amazing son-in-law that he is) got roped into playing "Santa" for my parent's ward Christmas party.

Despite his very 'not-the-center-of-attention-please-ANYTHING-but-that' kind of personality, he did awesome!! The photographer said she loved working with him and that he was so funny and witty and cute with all the kids (and even some adults).

Robbie just fell in love with this darling little girl. She would not stop looking at him with her big blue eyes.

He was such a wonderful Santa.....I'm so glad he'll be kissing ME under the mistletoe this year. *wink*

Here are a few that I took the other day......

First Day of School 8/06/08

Here are a couple of pictures of Braden and Brooke on the first day of school. Great-Grandma and Grandpa were even here for the exciting first day!

Right here Braden is saying "Seriously, Mom? We've done this every year, for 4 years straight, I am done smiling."

Brooke, on the other hand, was happy to pose for all the photos I wanted.....big surprise! (Can you see Braden in the background running off to class to spare himself anymore 'mother-induced embarrassment'?)

Oh, and here is sweet little brother who is LOVING every minute of them being at school. I honestly thought he would have a harder time with it.....but he is getting to watch all his "Boy movies" (without Brooke saying "No! That is too scary for me!"), take bubble baths in the middle of the day (our routine is pretty non-existant), go grocery shopping and decide that Batman fruit snacks and pudding were definately on the list we forgot to bring with us. He is slowly turning into a Hobbit.....but that is a different post.

Summer 6/21/07

Summer is officially here - it's 110 degrees today - and I am sitting outside watching my kiddos play on their water slide. I think my laptop might actually melt - and not from my lightening fast typing skills.

Here are a couple of pictures from a few weeks ago when Calvin, Sunny and Finn came to hang out with us while their parents had fun in France. Yeah, you read that right, FRANCE. (but that is a whole other green-eyed post)

The kids had a great time together.

Just a little scared 8/23/06

This is not the post I had intended to put up today, but after an impromptu photo session.....it couldn't wait.

Brooke has been invited to Calvin's "Rock Star" birthday party this weekend. Brooke loves Calvin - well, she loves all of Linsey's boys and Sunny is her bestest girlfriend - but she will tell anyone and everyone that Calvin is her boyfriend.

If you've read Linsey's cute blog.....I am sure you've discovered Calvin's love for rock n'roll and he has a cool mohawk that fits his personality perfectly. Well, we got Brooke some cool "Rock Chick" clothes to wear to the party. This is what she said when she tried on the clothes:

"Mom, these are soooo cute! Calvin is a rock star, and I am his girlfriend, so I totally have to look like a rock star, too!"

I am just a little scared for them to someday become teenagers.
